TOPIC: What Make of Boat is Good & Which to Avoid?

Talking about 25 years to present. Wellcraft makes a good boat, Bayliner might be more on the budget side. How would you rate the popular boat builders, and which would you prefer in a used boat?

The common ones 'round here are Larson, Bayliner, Starcraft, Crestliner, Glastron, Lund, and I'm sure a few I'm forgetting. Then there's the tow boats like Malibu and Centurion but I'm not really into those.

And yes, I'm looking for a new boat. 20' cuddy cabin in the $4000 range towable with a 1/2 ton truck. There's a fair selection (but not great) in road trip distance from Billings MT, feel free to contact me if you've got something.

New to me. There's lots of nice boats in that price range.

I read an article on boating Pittsburgh's site a few days ago about middle aged boats. They say a middle aged boat is ten years old. I just had to chuckle at the thought. What does it make mine at 54 years old.

Late to this rodeo but I have to admit the Sea Rays are great boats, very solid. You'd have to look in the 70's or 80's for that price but very solid boats IMHO.
