I have been driving by this boat in a backyard for 2 years. It was very hard to see in between the building but I finally saw it. I found the owner and asked if he would part with it. He said he had bought it as a project awhile back (01) and had taken it out once and then put it in the back yard and never got back to it. He said there is another engine in the bottom of the boat also. He said he gave $200 for the whole thing and if he could break even he would sell it.
I pulled the "tarp" off and moved the wading pool and guess what? Sold!!!!!!!!!
Poor little Merc 400 has been under this wading pool for 11 years.
Appears to be a 59 Belmont.Don't know anything about the Sea King and is this a Tee Nee? :(

Yes it appears to be a Tee Nee. My guess is 1960 or newer. Is that Merc dry? Looks like a fine project.
That trailer does tilt.

Thanks Robert. Good news about the trailer. The boat has been sitting nose up with the cover and the pool over the Merc, so that was the extent of its protection. I never popped the cover.

Neil, the seaking motor "looks" to be a motor made by gale in the very early 1960's,and 1963 is the last year for gale, they went out of business then.john

Got the latest one home. Looks to be a 58 Dorsett Belmont. And a forty horse Sea King. But the Sea King is spoken for and has got to go.
Now that's more like it!!

Nice Neil
that Dorsett hull will benifit from twin 4 cyl mercs and a pair of 14 pitch props and she will not only be fast with 14's but it will jump out of the water ....
start looking for pairs of 2 blade 13P's and 14P's.. brass is best because you can add 2P to the pitch with cupping to get more speed if the motors can deliver the power
the Dorsett weighs about as much as my Crosby & twins does so I wont be far off in my recomendation

I did not think that there would be room enough. I looked in my Merc book and it gives 31.5 as the min. transom width for twin 400's with a motor to motor center of 15.75. The transom on this little guy is at 32. Good news,,,,well maybe!!

The trailer looks exactly like my Tee Nee. I have no idea what year it is, but I would be interested in finding out.
