TOPIC: #3 wood screws

Hey guys,

I recently bought two vintage Aiguide gauges to match my speedo. After a couple more coats of varnish, I'll be able to attach them to my mahogany dash. The problem is that no screws came with the gauges. I have the three from my original speedo and brought one to my local Ace where I was told it was a #3 x 1/2 (3/4 will work, too). The salesman said they start at #4's and go up; he could order me some if I bought a thousand of them. Went to Home Depot...starts at #4's. Went to Lowes...starts at #4's. Went to Fastenal..starts at #4's. I'm looking for stainless with an oval head to sit in the recessed hole in the flange. I did find a #4 with an oval head, but it doesn't sit flush in the hole; it'll work, but I'll know those heads will be sitting bulbously out of the hole and stare at it while I'm boating knowing they don't quite fit. Figured if anyone knew where to get them, you guys do.
Any advice is much appreciated.

Hey Brian, Eduardo here. They have them here at our local old hardware store. They come in stainless too. When I got my Airgude ready for installation, I went to our Hollywood Hardware store and they had them. They are the same as when they came with them new. Here's a picture of it installed. I don't have a picture of just the gauge. I can take one so you can see what it looks like. In the meantime, here's a picture of the gauge and wheel. If you'd like, I can get several screws and mail them to you.
