46 mph 1st time out with 21 inch prop. Ran out of rpm as soon as it popped up on plane. I'll re-pitch it to 23 or cup it.

My honeydo list grows faster than I can work it. I got to feeling guilty about not enough work, so I finished the rubstrake install, polished the top stanchions and installed them, and made letters and put the registration numbers on the boat. Took it for a test run today. Sweeeeeet!

Your glasspar looks amazing. it has really inspired me to strive to new heights with my own sea fair. I really like how the interior looks, and the wood floor. I hope you don't mind me stealing some of your ideas

Go for it! That's why I post them. By the way, that's teak and rubber plywood epoxied to the CoosaBoard composite floor. Nearly the only wood in my Seafair is cosmetic!

Dropped the Seafair off at the upholstery shop for the cabin redo. Rolled and pleated cushions to match the Pompanette seat upholstery. carpeted topsides to which I will attach teak as I did in the cockpit. Perforated vinyl headliner over insulation. Gonna be cozy! If only there were a way to air condition it during the hottest part of summer!

I don't want to hijack Gary's thread here but you asked about the cost of mahogany. Our East Coast Glasspar Owners Association is restoring a 1964 Glasspar Seafair Sedan and it needs almost ALL of it's mahogany replaced. New Honduran Mahogany here in eastern N.C.
runs $14.00 a board foot!! However, I was able to get some leftover boards from a job the company had recently done and those boards sold for half of what the brand new boards did. ($7.00 a board foot.) Hope that helps you some Sir. ;)

a local place here Maryland Select Hardwoods has African Mahogany for $5.95/bdft and "Genuine" Mahogany for $8.95/bdft.

Last fall I picked up 80 bd ft of Honduarn, $8.75/bd ft.
I used African on my Sabre (avatar). The Honduran is much harder/dense mahogany, has a tighter grain and won't split as easy as African.

Mahogany was free. I loaded up my truck with it when a local boat restoration shop closed down.

I understand, John. I looked forever for a heavy duty sewer, bu everything I found needed repair. So I sold my Homelites to finance the interior.
