TOPIC: HELP-INFO REQUESTED 1958 MARLIN FIBERGLASS

Does anybody have or know where we can get information on the MARLIN FIBERGLASS BOAT CO. Boca Raton?

We searched on the web; however, could not find any details or photos related to our 1958 Marlin Fiberglass boat.

Don't clearly understand this article as it is stating that Marlin Boats started to be manufactured in 1958; however, the 'Marlin File Model' (included in the same link) starts with 1956 models.

Pictures of 1959 Sportsman Overnighter are posted but this model is not included on the Marlin Model File.
Also there are photos of a 1959 a Scat-Cat Overnighter which, based on the Marlin Model File, was being produced in 1960.

Just trying to find out the model of our 1958 Marlin.
Based on the 'Marlin File Model' it is either a 'Sunday' or a 'Sunfish' .

Does anyone have a picture of these 2 models or have any tips that could help us identify the exact model of our boat?

Not everything is necessarily accurate. Lots of mis-information and inaccurate information floating around. Not necessarily on purpose. I imagine the author of the article wrote to the best of his abilities and knowledge. The model information sheet may be inaccurate.

I think the problem with the data sheet information on model names is that it's taken from a boat value book . The book seems to have mixed on a single page model names from three different owners of Marlin, and model names known to exist in 1958 and 1959 are not listed. The history of Marlin in the late 1950s to 1961 was rather chaotic, with owners and plant locations changing as rapidly as model names.
