TOPIC: Winner Back as a Project

Winner Back as a Project 12 years 4 months ago #61826

I just have too much to do. I been working on my son's 96 F-150 but I am taking a break to do some work on my Winner. If I can get it looking good enough I may put more into it. The fiberglass is in a butchered state from someone with a orbital sander and too big of sandpaper grit. On the good side the transom is in great shape. It does have a small separation on the stern I need to sand out and glass up. I gave it a bath this morning. It's been sitting here for two years now. After I got sick last year i didn't get much done. I did get the Tee Nee about done. I have a lot of work to do. Mine is a Scorpion but this is close. The wooden splash guards are still in decent shape and I will be stripping them.

I'm just glad to hear you're feeling better and up to working on it this year Bob! Somebody sure did a number on it with a sander or grinder, that's for sure. Please keep us posted on your progress.

I forgot to put the separation pic in. Looks like water got in and froze. This is about three inchs.

The separation was from someone throwing something into the boat. All glassed in and repaired. Lots of work into this thing now. Many of the disc sanding marks are long gone. I have it all in a primer now. Paint is coming real soon. I found out that mixing small amounts of resin in an old Teflon skillet makes for easy clean-up. Wait till it sets and dump it out.

John you should fix that good enough to fish from and relax a bit.

It is blue. First one I rolled the paint. Rustoleum with hardener. Good enough for me.

Flipped back and on the Tee Nee Trailer and it was only 92 degrees today. All by myself and a couple baby crib mattress's. Pics are lousy. I don't know why. Maybe the batteries are low. My bunks stick out an inch or two. I'd sure like to get another roller for the Tee Nee. This is a pic of the real bad three or four layers of paint over the cracked and crazed gel coat. I'm sanding it all the way to fiberglass. You can see the fiberglass under some of those big chips. Still debating on cutting the top and make it just a fishing boat. This upper part is real bad. I'll sand it before I make a decision. The top of the transom is covered because it might rain. I'm not cutting the trailer off. It can just be a little longer than the boat. Anyone have an extra roller? I have the eye bolts, just not the roller.

What's the width of the roller you need Robert? (6" - 8" ?) The project is coming along nicely, thanks for sharing.
