I've used 3M 5200 Fast Cure Sealant for a long time. Its the best for below and above the waterline and I also used it to install the new rub rail on three boat restorations. Now I've come across another 3M Fast cure Sealant, it called "3M 4200 Fast Cure Sealant". So does anyone here know what the difference between "4200 and 5200 Fast Cure Sealant" is??

Go to 3m.com and enter product description and will give you a product data sheet. This should answer your questions. You could also call 3m at 1-800-3mhelps. :)

5200 is permanent and will likely shred the F/G if you try to disassemble something. 4200 is one step less permanent & can be disassembled.
