I am working on a 14', 1962 Tomahawk Sprit with original cable steering. I am looking for the plastic donuts that dresses up the 3" or 5" hole that the 1/8" dia. cable along with any electric wires and throttle and shift cables go through at the rear of the boat. This 3" to 5" hole is normally found in the gunnel within the splash well. I have purchased these "donuts" before but for the life of me I do not remember what they are called. When I call the usual places (iboats, Wholesale Marine, CME Marine, Go2Marine) I end up talking to a young lady that doesn't even know what cable steering is.

SO....what I am after is what they are called and where I might go to get them. I know for sure they are "gettable" as I have purchased them in the past.
This is what one looks like on my Lake N Sea.
Same as above.

Extra one I have in stock.

Thank You
Greg Anderson

In that size it would be called a trim ring. Here is one. www.marinco.com/product/3-inch-plastic-interior-trim-ring

I also use large Grommets to do the same thing and keep splash out.

Those have gotten almost impossible to find, Greg! (I needed one for my Cutter Tornado.) I got lucky and found one hanging in the showroom of a local marine dealer, I believe the label called it a "splashwell trim ring". (The dealer is now closed, they're ALSO becoming extinct around here!) You might check with Joe Poole or Jim Andros, they've both got a knack for finding "hard to find" items like that. ;)

Hello..
Nice stuff.. I think, you should use grommets. I usually used grommets for the same thing... Thanks.

Sometimes called steering grommet, motor well boot.
I have the Uflex items installed on my Power Cat.
The trim ring fits over the rubber boot portion on mine, and could be used by themselves for your application.

Uflex has grommets:
