TOPIC: Waxing an old hull?

Any suggestions for a 1968 Starcraft Daytona TR-17. I have spent 4 years on this boat and now it needs cosmetics. Boat is green. I cleaned off some duct tape last year. There is a nice color under there. There is a white film over everything.

I don't plan on painting anymore. I only painted the transom with plastic furniture paint. I had replaced the transom with seacast.
The rest of the boat is the original gelcoat.
What is a good way to wash and wax? Brands?

I rubbed out the sides on my Starcraft with rubbing compound, followed by wax. The gelcoat was quite oxidized when I got it, so it took a fair bit of elbow grease to get it cleaned up, but the effort was well worth it!

If as you say you don't plan on painting it again and its oxidized here is and old used car sales trick and it works. Rub the hull down with oil and it will shine like new. Even good motor oil will do. when it starts looking like it needs it again wash it with soap and redo it. Sure beats a lot of rubbing. I do this to the top side of mine just got tired of waxing and waxing.

I guess a variation of this same deal - put a small amount (a capfull) of kerosene in your wash water with the soap, comes out shining for a while.

Just recognize that if you wax and oil it can be a bear to clean it all off if you ever choose to paint it. Wax and oils are what cause fish eyes when painted.
