TOPIC: Chris Craft Corsair

Chris Craft Corsair 12 years 5 months ago #59292

Hello All: It has been a couple of years since my last post. I am looking for some information about the Chris craft Corsair outboard. I am interested in buying one for $500 with 2 motors. QThe boat has a glass sealed floor with no provision for an inner hull drain hole or plug. The floor has a couple of drilled in holes, (probably held seats in place). Un fortunately the boat has spent a couple of years outside and at one point accumulated quite a bit of water.

How do you determine if the inner hull is full of water? More importantly, does it have glassed in wood stringers that could be rotted? The floor is solid. Transom seems solid as I could not get it to flex by Putin all my 250 pd body weight on the motor.

I want to buy it, but don't want do do the fiberglass repair. I think all she needs is a good clean up and would wheel and be beautiful.

Anyone with experience that can comment?

Thanks,

Craig

What year and model?

I have a 1966 Chris-Craft Corsair Sport V 17'-6" outboard made by Thompson Boat Company of New York, Inc.

My inner liner is intact and I have not had any reason to beleive that water got in there.

I think you will most likely have to drill some exploratory holes to determine what is going on under the floor.

Cool Boat! I just picked up a rare '67 Sport V, number 16 of 25!

I like my blue bomb! The 100 HP Evinrude sucks fuel like there is no tomorrow, but oh well, such is life.

What is the length of your boat?

There is no price guide. Just whatever a seller and buyer can come up with.
