I have a 1960's Sea King" trailer sold through Montgomery Wards and was wondering if Wards just bought trailers from an established trailer manufactorer and re-badged them as there own? It does have nice swooping fenders. The welds look nice too. If I were to paint it yellow/orange, I would think it was even a little dude or Gator.

Thanks

hi knots, montgomery wards used many boat/motor/trailer companys through the years, for example in the early 60's they used starcraft to make the laptrake looking boats, and gale to make the motors,up until 1963 when gale quit making motors.
do you have any pics of it,the one i had under my 64 cabin cruiser looked like a little dude.john

I've got a 1970 Wards Sea King trailer. It still has the makers tag and specs on it. I'll look when I get home and let you know. I might post a pic as well to put in the Sea King library file.

Here it is! Manufactured by Dutton-Lainson Co. Hastings, Nebraska. At least my 1970 Sea King trailer. My Sea King boat was built by Super-Craft of Florida.
