TOPIC: Year of Gw Invader?

Hi All, was refered to your site for help. Would the year of build be in the serial # ? Thanks in advance!!

Andreas and Andy just loaded some GW Invader literature in the library the other day plylespub, have you had a chance to look it over yet? I know a couple members here are familiar with those boats, hopefully someone will chime in here soon.

For some reason the "preview" button messes up the pics. Just post with the pic, you can always edit the post right after. This is also the way to post multiple pics, post with one then hit "edit" and add another as many times as you'd like.

Ok gang......whats your best guess on the year and what do you think its worth? My wife and I had it in the water 2 weeks ago with no problems. When I got it, it had a 85hp merc on it.....first time I launched it the factory bumber in the rear was 2" underwater......it was a potential sunkin craft, without me in it!! Traded the 85 for 1000 bucks and the 50hp. Bolted right up, same pattern as the 85hp. Not sure to sell it or hang on to it.....never seen another one before.....not on our chain anyway. I have some pic's with the 85 bolted on......crazy lookin. Problem is I will most likely need help postin them!! Thanks again Mark.

well I dont know what year it is but I do know the factory is gone, though some molds are still lieing around most where burryed and crushed, the plant site in only 15 miles from me and I have met many that worked there. I still have 2 GW Invaders an 8' single seat and a 15' tunnel. pics are in my profile.
They have some problems with bouncing at spd but usuly a real fun lake boat, with a 50hp you should have plenty of fun.
I just relooked at the pics, the lil black stripe on the rt rear may have numbers-letters, if so the last 2 should note the build date, also note this hull has been "splashed" by many.

VT has one with a 20 hp Merc that is plenty fast. Drove it with my wife on board also. A real fun little boat and reasonably safe.

Thanks for the info fella's! I will check the numbers on the tag and get back to ya. Also, this boat is a BLAST! Like mentioned, it bounces a bit and in rough water its slapper, but on glass......priceless. Any thoughts what its worth? I saw one on e-bay that had been restored, boat only, no motor for $3000.

They are only worth what someone will pay the day you sell........lol, I wouldnt pay much over 700.00 with a motor and trailer.
