i managed to score a windshield that's actually made from glass to replace the plexiglass one on my boat. i was wondering if there's anything special about mounting it to the boat that i should be aware of? should be pretty straightforward from what i can see, but i wanted to check first anyway.

Tough to tell without seeing the windshield and the trim around it. Glass windshields are heavier so the attachments need to be more substantial. Also, they do not have the flexibility of a plastic windshield.

Make sure it's well supported, and can't flex... Because it WONT flex like a plexi one will, it'll crack. It needs to be held down fairly securely, but don't crank down on it too hard or it''l crack...

My Glasspar has a glass windshield, they are nice.

Do Not use it to pull yourself up out of the seat. Learned that one the hard way a few yrs ago. Glass windshields don't flex at all.

well dangit. the glass windshield isn't going to fit. not without modifying the boat, anyway. stupid rubber tape measure. that, and my impatience. =)

the brown stripe is where the old windshield was. it needed to come out anyway, so no biggie. but i was pretty stoked for the glass! anyone need a glass windshield?
