ok, I finished the 59 Fleetform, sold the 58 lake n sea, and have now purchased this. closest thing i could find to a bell boy. Have not been able to identify this yet. the title says 1960 Dorsey (Mabey a Dorsette?) I have had titles with the wrong manufacture namme on them before. The badge on the side says Glassen N Son, Not sure if Im spelling it correctly. Boat is pretty nice and intact. Also any info leading to the identity of this boat would help. More pictures to come

ok, looking in the library, I believe this is a 1960 Dorsett 19ft San Juan express cruiser. Only because my boat has the unexplained holes in both sides just above the waterline shown in the advertisement picture and the 17ft model does not. Body lines also look slightly different on the 17ft. Agree,disagree? More info still appricated

That sure looks like a Dorsett San Juan to me. And she looks to be in real nice shape too. Mustard yellow is a nice color on those. It should be badged somewhere likely on the transom just inside the cutaway. They also had Dorsett emblems on both sides of the hull. Is it an outboard or I/O? those are a favorite out here they can handle a lot of big water for an old desigh. Very seaworthy. The portals you describe are probably the thru-hull fittings for the "flush to the lake" toilet. Earth first.

No emblems saying Dorsett on the side. There is a badge inside the passenger side of the transom, havent read it yet. I told my buddy I thought those holes were for the toliet and sink and he laughed at me hahaha I was right. It is an outboard 135hp Merc on it. Believe mid 70's motor. ordered the wiring harness inside the engine cover today. Should run, was last on the water in 2011.

Could be a Farallon like cruiser. One, the side cabin windows are longer than a San Juan. Two, the only time I have seen that type of railing along the entire bow and gunhale is on a Farallon. See Dorsett brochures here. The emblem name is an interesting story. Was this boat a special edition? If the hardware is original, it looks like mid to late sixties. The color is known with Marlin boats. Marlin took over Dorsett. Definitely a Dorsett design cruiser. I just love the larger Dorsett cruisers.
