TOPIC: HELP with evinrude lark lower unit assembly

i'm putting the lower unit back together and one of the water pump inlet or outlet holes does not have a brass tube. i think it came apart without one but i'm just not sure so do i leave it as is and it will pick up or output water. i did the best i can explaining so i will attach pix to help explain. looking at the two pix i know red goes to red and blue goes to blue, its the purple one that im not sure about.i think it does not get a grommet and just remains open. thanks.
