Whitewater jet boat racing, popular in the northwest. 16-18 foot aluminum raceboats with SERIOUS horsepower. Rocks, gravel, sandbars, etc. Wild ride is an understatement!!!!!!!!!!

Some are homemade, some built by small specialty builders. Rocks do dent the hulls, sometimes holing or cracking them. If the bilge pump keeps up, keep going!!! The races are timed, so if the competition breaks down, you still have a chance. Pounding out dents and welding patches are done afterwards. Yes, I think they're nuts, but no more than anyone else that loves their particular hobby.

Thanks Kerry, don't get me wrong I'd love to have one, it looks like a blast! I just don't relish the thought of having to fix the bottom after every outing!

Then don't drive it in skinny, rocky water. If you wouldn't run an outboard there, don't drive there, period. I think they would be like a big jetski on a lake, nimble and quick.

Yep, of course i could still run it on my river but it's the Potomac and rocks usually aren't an issue.
