When is someone going to start this show for boats? I will park mine in the driveway and someone can "steal" it and call me in a few days with it finished....I promise I won't be mad!

Hell , These days they are giving T.V, shows to just about anyone, and payin big money too ! A show about boats woulg be great, Better than half the crap on the tube now! Just a matter of tapeing one or two episodes , sell the idea to a network they pay, We produce more episode. Club members can guest host and narrate each project. I'd watch it !

That would be better than watching shows about a useless "family" trying to figure out where their multi-million dollar wedding for their daughter went wrong or some other disfunctioal "family" trying to outbuild each other with motorcycles. I'm betting it would do okay with ratings. Too much junk on the tube. Let's all get together and design a dress! Yeah, right.

A pilot for such a show has already been filmed, several years ago. The film makers cannot get financial backing to get it aired. They had an entire season of shows planned. It never got beyond that first episode.
A big reason for them not being able to get money is the fact that it does not have cat fights, bickering, compition between characters, etc... that's what sells these days. Educational programs are very difficult to get off the ground. You need a Tom Hanks or Robert Redford or Oprah to get behind such a program. The guy that created this show communicated with me a number of times before he started filming. Wish I could recall his name. I think he was in Oklahoma. Andreas |

Andreas, you are right on with the cat fights. Drama sells. And if you can't bleep out the F word at least 30 times in a 30 minute show, the ratings will not be good!

. I used to watch it when I lived in Florida! I remember there was a show where they installed a transom plate that filled the OMC sterndrive hole so you could install a Mercruiser drive.

I can f-bomb to beat the band I will be the host!!! I am argue real nice too. get some eye candy in there that can't tell a cleat from the hull and we will be fine!
ship-shape is good and informative at the products they want to sell for people but a real show about people like us would be great. i think that there is rood for both the informative and sensible as well as humor. Thanks to my neighbor Kenny and my cousins I spent quite a bit of time in the corner in the kitchen for being what they called "a swear boy". Hell they taught me the words...... |

Nut and I have been "cat fighting" for 5 years on these boards, OMC vs. Merc, and we could provide many episodes of disagreement for the opening of each show!!!

There was an idea floating around about a competition for restoration. Ie, amateur restoration competition teams and professional restoration teams. That could make a good script with judging at the end.

Phil. Someone could "steal" you boat and let the swampers use it for aligators. Probably "chute" a hole in it. Any boat slapped together is 5 or 6 days I probably would not want to take on the water.
