TOPIC: anyone around eugene, OR?

in my late night craigslist wanderings i stumbled across a motor i may be able to use some of the parts from. only problem is that the motor's in eugene and i won't be able to make it down for a few weeks. i've yet to call the guy and see if it's what i think it is, but i wanted to put some feelers out and see if anyone: 1) lives near there and b) would be willing to pick it up and hang onto it for a week or 3. money, of course, would be taken care of ahead of time and all. it's just that the guy posted it today and he's not asking much at all for it, so it will likely be sold by the time i could make it down.

i've seen a few folks pipe up and offer to get/hold stuff in various places around the country here on the forum... that's the only reason i'd even consider asking this. heh, i just told the wife "how do i ask a bunch of strangers on the internet if they'd pick up a motor and store it for me?" time for bed i think.

I would gladly help you out, but I am not headed out there anytime soon. At around 115 miles south of Portland, that would put me into new geography for Merc hunting!

Called the guy... it's everything i could've asked for and more. enough so that i'm considering taking off of work early and making the 5 hour drive to go get it if no one here lives nearby.

I live in Stayton so it would be about an hour for me. Can you just send him the money and ask him to hold it for you?

gah! no go on holding it. he just wants it gone. at his asking price, he should be rid of it pretty quick.
