TOPIC: A 1958 Sumark ?? + 500 merc

I will need some help on I D on this boat. It is a 1958 Sumark. The guy owned it 12 years and thinks it is a Resorter model. It has a running mercury 500 on it. ( I have a 500 longshaft and a 400 short ) The hull is in exellent shape with good gell coat. The deck is also good but 4' of snow and a tree branch cracked both corners of the dash and one other place. Easy to fix and paint the deck. The guy gave me the boat and trailer with the Mercury ( $125 ) and a bunch of new trailer stuff and a new in the box prop. Will post another photo in the daylite.
I think I am hooked on this one. I could get it in the water this summer and make a wet meet in northeren Ca.!!

Thanks for the photo. That one is like mine except for mine another piece of deck across making another bench seat and a motorwell. It will me nice when finished.

Made in Walpole, MA. My uncle had one with a 33 Skitwin on it. I loved that boat. My friends in westford ma bought it and never knew what happened to it from there. Cool forward deck for sure.

Thanks all. I think my biggest chore will be finding a windshield that I can fit to it. Have 2 good ones stored in the shed and I will have to dig to get to them. I'm going to be out of commission with some surgery so it will be April before I can get back to it. Would like to get it in the water sometime this summer.

O K I have it nailed down It is a 1958 SU-MARK RESORTER GULL. The open model with out the rear bench seat is the S/M Fishing Gull. these were the only 2 16' boats in that year. one more photo cheaned up, carpets pulled out and will try the merc tomorrow.
