This is the main hull of the 140 ft trimaran (sailboat) Banque Populaire V going from the builder's facility to the water. About 3:00 PM tomorrow, this boat should set the around the world record at 45.5 days.

Glad I don't have to tow this or back it in to my yard.

Groovy! How long is that thing being shipped?

I get involved with shipping long and weird shapes. Here is one of our pieces of glued laminated timber that is 136 ft. long. It's the keel and keelson for a 224 ft. long wooden MineCounter Measure (MCM) ship built in the 1980s. We've shipped stuff 20 ft. wide downn the road many times too.

YUP I can do that, just wait and I'll put the ladder rack back on the pickup in the morning. I had construction experience for bridges and we used to have the whole box beams come. They just strapped wheels to the back and away they went. I remember ones that were over 100 foot. Pre-stressed concrete is nice. I still have some pad rubber for them here. This was taken from Google maps. The beams are the cement ones you see on the bridge. They were all replaces because the pier holding the steel ones up had to be replaced because of mine subsidence back in the 70's. That big old bridge hung in the air unsupported for a time. When working on the steel it slithered back and forth like a snake. I'd never walk those beams again.

I believe the hull is between 130 and 140 ft. It is the center hull of the boat in this video (going 41 knots!)

This may get bounced to NBR, but I thought this might put our trailering problems in perspective. Didn't realize we had so many people involved in shipping the big stuff.

I had to ship my PT boat down the road a bit at one time. I don't have her anymore though.

it was cool until it started to turn into a nightmare. complicated. That Tri @ 41 + knots is very intense. So awesome!!!!

I had two of the three packards for that PT. One on a stand the other in boxes.
