i was looking at the american pickers "pickers warehouse" and saw this cool wood evinrude sign,it comes in 2 sizes,cool for your mancave,lol,plus other cool stuff,if ya can afford them,lol.john

I was thinking more in the line of $2.50. We're to far apart, ya gotta work with me here. And a few minutes later they say, "I paid three dollars for this sign and I'm going to sell it $425.00 for a profit of $422.00.

I'll never understand why people complain about someone making a profit by selling something for more that what they bought it for. That, afterall, is known as capitalisim. If I buy something for 5 bucks then find someone who is willing to pay me 50 times that for it - then good for me.

Making a profit is what drives things.

I'm just surprised what people will pay them. But if they come here and want something and don't want to pay my price they will leave without it. It works both ways on a fair deal. Don't forget I dealt with the public over twenty years. When I bought something I paid a fair price. And when I sold I sold at a fair price. I can stand behind my dealings knowing I never gouged anyone and I feel the better for it.

yep....asking for a profit is just good bussiness...few people realise in states like kansas, if you have a sales tax number you have to pay sales tax on all items that you give away...you also have to figure storeing, any cost in geting the stuff, gas whatnot...if you can make a killing on 1 item it helps with the stuff that isn't selling...i price mine at what the traffic will bear...john

Another thing I can tell you, Just because it is a reality show does not mean it is not scripted. I talked to Fred Hurt (Dakota Fred) about it and they (Discovery) had him scripted as the bad guy. He was getting death threats from all over. He went back to Discovery and they had a gag order on him but the real story was out before the scripting and editing about him buying Porcupine Creek. Never believe these people did not sign papers and make any agreements so they'd get their muggs on TV. Never believe TV reality shows.
