I am looking at a boat I saw today and haven't got in touch with the owner yet. I think it is a Chrysler but I am not sure.
Motor looks like it says Bust on it but the control was a Chrysler

Thanks John
I havve now looked through that linc and done some more searching on the webb. The Windshield sure looks like a Chrysler or Lonestar But the Hull doesn't quite look right. It might be deep V instead of cathedral though. the Phone no. it gave is disconnected so I will have to find another way to contact.
Are the chrysler motors any good and are parts available. All I have dealt with are Mercury's and helped my brother with Johnny rudes.
That is if it is a Chrysler motor it says Bust or Rust on it in professional lettering.
Thanks Tom

Looks like a 1970s or maybe even a 1980s boat. Look for the hull ID on the outside of the transom, starboard side. Should be 12 characters starting with three letters. Those three letters are a U.S. Coast Guard assigned code for the manufacturer. The last portion will be the month and year she was built or the model year.

Kinda looks like a 1970s Sea Ray.

Thanks I was thinking 70's She still has the runabout look I like. I would like to find some fins But I haven't seen any around here The lake wasn't made unrill around 1963.
She is behind a fence and the phone no. is no good. I hope the business she is parked on will let me get a closer look. I need a boat for my place in Clearlake with a higher freeboard.

Motor is late 70's-early 80's Chrysler, 3 cyl, possibly 85hp. The boat doesn't look Chrysler to me. Definitely a deep vee.

I have looked through the late 1960's Sea Ray brochures and the hull does look a lot like late 60's Sea Rays, but the windscreen is not anything like what those boats had. As for the engine, the cowl looks like a Chrysler but what is says on it has me baffled. I looked at Mariners (Chryslers with a different name) but didn't find anything.

The cowling was probably repainted and custom lettered. Only the owner knows what it means. Definitely Chrysler. As for the boat, I would guess early 1980's, same as the motor.

The Mariners that I am familiar with the 50 hp and above were made by Mercury Marine and the 40 hp and below were made by Yamaha Marine. We still have a 40 hp with a Yamaha Marine tag on the transom clamp.
