just got off the phone with john. the first part of the test i guess revealed nothing, and he's awaiting the the results from the second part. if that turns out ok he thinks he will be going home. he said the chemical stress test wasn't as bad as the first one he had. he's going to call me as soon as he gets the results and i'll post here. hopefully our prayers have been answered. ron

john just called. they are taking him to Sunnyside Hospital in Pittsburgh now, to do a catherization in the morning. he says its about a 2 hour procedure. i'll be calling him before i leave for the Poconos tomorrow and will let ya'll know how he's doing. i don't have internet service up there so maybe one of you can call for further information. his phone #412-623-2121...room 5795...bed 2.

My grandmother passed there after a major heart operation some years ago. She was 80 and had a very bad heart. She went through the operation fine but had complications. GET WELL SOON JOHN. Hi All, I just spoke with John at Sunnyside. He is still waiting to be taken down for his catheterization so no news there however the stress test came up negative. The way I understand a stress test is that it's a 4 part procedure involving EKG, x-rays, chemicals and a treadmill. He seems to have passed that part of the equation and is waiting on the catheterization. He did say that he is very, VERY appreciative of all of the support and concern by everyone I want to pass those thanks along. I guess the prayers are working. Thanks.

I've had 4 heart Cath's and 6 Stents. The Catheritization is a pretty mundane prodcedure. You are semi awake during the entire procedure. Basically they make a small incision on the inside of the groin and run a small scope into the main artery all the way up to the heart. I watched the whole thing on a monitor once. Kinda weird seeing a tube in your own heart on a monitor. No sensation whatsoever except when the inject the dye to see everything, then it's like you took a shot of Jack Daniels. Nice warm sensation in your chest. If he has a heart problem, it will show up on the screen. I had a 95% blockage on one of mine and the immediately placed a stent. I'm telling you they have really made amazing progress in heart care in the last decade. I'm sure he'll be fine. My prayers will continue.

wow,you all have overwhelmed me again,im home now,it appears one of my main artery's had collapsed to 85% blocked ,just as it went through an old stent that had been put in years ago,so the doctor had to maneuver a new stent into the beginning of the old one,it took him a little while but it worked.
i was having chest pains on dec.7th and went to indiana hospital but they sent me home,and i was still having chest pains ,i then went to my cardiologist,who sent me by ambulance to indiana again,where my chemical stress test showed an abnormality ,i was then sent to upmc shadyside hospital in pittburgh,where it all took place.
i feel a whole lot better now,thanks to you all ,and your prayers and well wishes,and a really great doctor and staff,its the best place in western pa for heart problems.
but even more important to me than all of that is the great outpouring of support you all have sent me,it truly means the world to me to have the best friends in the world,along with my fantastic wife ,mother ,ed and family.

Glad you doing fine now John. Funny thing about friends. Most of my friends today I never met. Most of my local friends here are all gone. I know many people from my Pest Control internet friends and of course here. Two days ago I was invited to stay at a friends house in Florida. Never met him. I been talking to him for years and found out he is David Allen Coe's Nephew just this summer. I was invited to California last year by another friend who is in Pest Control. I can't afford to go but I sure would have liked to go. John I'm going to have to make the trip up some day. I hate going on long trips and it must be a 35 minute trip.
