Is there a list of old 1950/60's movies with nice glassic boat action? Im looking to watch some movies over my winter vacation. Any of these on "Netflix"?

I did enjoy this Evinrude factory film:

Thanks

The James Bond flick where the Glastron jumps over the isthmus.

Some Like it Hot has a nice woody at the end.

I think you're talking about "Live and Let Die", Andreas. (GT-150 did the jump, several other models used as chase boats.)

There was also a modified CV23HT in the bond film "Moonraker", but I believe those were both 70's series movies.

And of course "The BAT BOAT" from the TV series, not sure when that came out.

Not exactly a Hollywood gem but surely interesting. LOL!

Somewhere my dad has some footage at the Larson factory in Little Falls MN. It shows a late fall test of an early tri-hull design by Paul Larson, who is present in the film. The boat started life as a pint size Falls Flyer, about 10 feet long, but has a funky gull wing style hull under it. My dad says they were trying to do this testing before the river froze. They would build a new bottom, run it out to test it, make changes, and try again. He said the resin mix was rich with hardener every time the bottom was rebuilt in just an hour or so.

Quote from my dad...."I could have had that boat if I had just asked for it".

If I ever find it again, I'll post it. It is on 16mm movie film.

There's some old movie footage I located for my DVD Series, "American Classic Speedboats" Some of it appears in the DVD Set available from www.americanclassicspeedboats.com

I grabbed one domain movie, "Teenage Zombies" from archive.org that has some scenes with a nice Glasspar Avalon ca. 1954 and some pretty funny dialogue about boats and skiing in the teenage vernacular. See my remix:

There's one Show from the old "Route 66" Series that features the guys racing boats that I've been unable to find without buying the whole set.

Other threads have mentioned the old Sea Hunt Series with Loyd Bridges.

I think it's the "Clambake" Elvis Presley movie that features The King as a millionaire pretending to be a boat builder/racer. He of course, pulls Tom Sawyer and gets a bunch of beach babes to do his glass repairs for him. Good actual offshore championship racing footage.

The ACBS has the "Silver Fox" documentary about Gar Wood

I have a recut of the Beverly Hillbillies Glasspar episode that is in public domain in my Series called, "The Hillbilly Express".

My favorite is Tony Curtis in "The Great Race" that features a Glasspar G-3 customized with enormous fins. See my remix:

The Library of Congress has the domain footage of Edison's movie of the Autoboat Races on the Hudson.

I suggest my 10 Show DVD set for a Winter's viewing about boats.
