TOPIC: Outboard pwc?

Outboard pwc? 14 years 11 months ago #5197

I have a boat called a ski-horse. It's an old pwc, takes an o.b. motor up to 20 hp.
My prob. is it's extremly heavy , close to 400lbs.
It's only supposed to be about 200 max plus motor and rider.
I think the old flotation needs to be replaced with new as i think it's watersoaked.
My question is what do i replace the rivets with after i grind them off to seperate the top and bottom?
Is this the way to do it? All answers and suggestions appreciated. Can take pics. if need be.

Pictures are really needed to get a better idea. When you post pictures, after the first picture, just re-edit your post and add more pictures one at a time.

rivets are best dealt with a drill motor and an appropriate size bit to drill them out
as Ken said photos are best though when asking for help

Probably can replace the rivets with bolts of some form or another, depending on the accessibility of the inside of the hull.

Here's an old post about the Ski-Horse Corp.
