TOPIC: Jetson Stern Lite going cheap today

actually, 2 popular style stern lites on the same ebay listing cheap at this time, if a guy could get them cheap enough you could sell the other to defray costs & re-chrome the jetson...but it may go well over $150 at the last second, who knows??

I paid $86 for a very nice condition Jetson lite last sept

She looks a little rough- And I'd be willing to bet the price JUMPS at the last minute (or second) as is so common on E-Bay!!

They look well used and the shipping is $31.60 for $31.60 I would think they would come to your house and mount it on the boat ??? There is somebody out there that will want it

its supply and demand for one of the most sought after stern lites..... but clearly some do want it there is one for $225 for sale & it WILL sell....I paid $86 for mine and this is the off season

and these 2lites had 16 bids & sold for $106 for 2 lites, its rough now but one could afford to have this one chromed buying it cheaply as they did.

INTERESTING,, If someone is in East TENN & missed out ,, here is a $200 boat & motor ,, NO trl has one of these Jetson rear lights.
Seems to be a 64 SEA KING . package ,Lapstrake pattern sides like MFG or Lyman,, WEST BEND engine , two Cyl 50 H.P. , One carb.
Sort of racy , pointy , speed lower unit..

I spent over $700 replacing chrome bits last year on the Crosby and still have a few pieces to re-chrome

Yeah- It REALLY adds up if you have to start getting things replated- If you can even FIND someone to do it!!

Someone has a complete chroming setup for sale on Craigslist... $2500.00, but tempting...

What makes it costly is replating pot metal, which a lot of our chrome parts were made of. I couldn't believe how much a guy wanted to rechrome 4 step pads ($300). He said it was because they were pot metal, which is very hard to work with (low melting temp, I think) and even when he was done, they won't be perfect.

I picked up a Sea King boat identical to that one this morning, 60 electric start evinrude and trailer - minus one wheel - for $0.00! It also has a light like that. I'll post a picture when I get to a real computer.

Wade Plating outside of Philadelphia does rechroming but not cheap. Especially if the pock metal is deeply pitted. Good luck.

Not a bad find at all on the Sea King / Evinrude, Austin! AND the price was certainly RIGHT.

Kind of an unusual deal, or maybe a sign of thing to come. It's the results of a reverse mortage.

Lady in her 90's lived in her house with her daughter in her 70's. Mother took out a reverse mortage for income. Mother dies, daughter doesn't inherit the house, but is evicted by the sheriff very quickly as the reverse mortage holder has her tossed out, everything they owned is thrown (litterely) into the street. Daughter is homeless.

Only good thing is they told me to get the boat before the sheriff showed up.

Be careful of the deals you make and the unintended consequences.
