TOPIC: Gerstner Steering

Well as all researches go I finally found out who and when this steering column system was designed and may have been incorporated into usage for at least as my boat is concerned.
This was designed and patent filed in April 05 1957 By H J GERSTNER.
He made this as a new design to ( provide a novel remote control assembly, whereby the operator of the boat from one position may readily steer the boat as well as control the shifting of the gears and operation of throttle of motor as well.).
This a summery in part using combination of language in file and my understanding as reported in a US patent file. I'm working on to get permission to use Patent file to post on site for info. to be used for lost or rare assemblies for the Classic Boating History.
