In 1959, the Dorsett Monterey Express Cruiser got the addition of a little length and a fiberglass well under the outboard and was renamed the Catalina. The 1959 Catalina has a number of unique design features including the flat bow handle. The 1960 Catalina version remained largely unchanged through 1963. In 1962, the Catalina sported the visor over the front windows. In 1963, the visor was removed along with the bullets on the sides and the paint scheme changed to include paint above and below the rub rail. In 1964, both the upper and lower molds were completely changed and much of the charm was lost. The question is . . . Was the design of the 1960 and 1961 Dorsett Catalina identical?
