TOPIC: Another great CL find! (airguide gauges)

Like Andrew, I also scored on Craigslist. I have been looking for some matching airguide gauges to match the speedo on my '57 Crosby. Found these on Nationwide Craigslist for $50 and the guy sent them to me for $10. A steal IMO. Both the clock and barometer work perfectly; the chrome is perfect. They're going to look great on my mahogany dash.

While in my workroom I found a vhs tape on instructions for the striper if you need it.

i won the same set on ebay 6 mos. ago. i need the matching tach. no luck so far. most on ebay are for cdi ignition.

Yesterday I saw a same-era speedo and clock go for $133 and $20 to ship. They were in pretty crappy shape. So, neeedless to say, I'm pretty stoked. Not sure I really need a barometer, but it looks cool.

varnishing had to come to a halt until spring. Winter has set in. And, I just went through a gallon of Captain's varnish and the finish isn't where I want it to be. I had some issues with the varnish coagulating in the can. Since school started (I'm a 7th/8th grade English teacher)I think there was too much time between sanding and varnish coats while the varnish just sat in the can after it was opened. I had to pour the last few coats worth of varnish through a cheese cloth to get the little balls of dried varnish out. I'll get a quart of new varnish for my finishing coats when it warms back up. It's been a learning experience for sure. I don't want to have to do this again for a long time. Hope it's OK if I keep your Beugler pinstriper that long. If not just let me know.

No problem, I know it's in good hands. Teach you pupils the difference between stripper and striper. Maybe some show and tell.

That's what the stripper was doing for us - show and tell. It still cost a bunch of dollar bills before we eve got the the show part of the night...just kidding!

Question though, How do you get Craigslist to search the whole country. No mater what I do, it forces me to pick a city to search in.
