TOPIC: New to forums and boats

New to forums and boats 12 years 11 months ago #48422

To make a long story short I traded an old car for a couple of boats. Of course both boats are gonna need some work one allot more than the other one. In the proccess of cleaning out the smaller one nabor comes over to see what i was doing and gave me an old bass boat that he had sitting in his back shed.

first boat is a 1968 Sears off the top needs battery fuel tank and throttle controls. Looks like it needs some minor repairs on the hull. I don't know what I am doing yet so it could get worse when i try to do the repairs.

2nd boat i have no idea who made it or when it was made. Going to need allot of work. About every thing needs to be done.

Last but not lease is the Maiden craft bass boat. It has allot of small things that need to be done but biggest is the transom is fubar.

Welcome to the forum, and to boats!

That sears rig looks pretty nice- Even has a matching sears motor, and I'd bet a sears trailer.

Welcome!

If you can, try to add some pics of the interior of the Sears.

Ask any and all questions. These guys are awesome and have already made all the mistakes and know what works and what doesn't so guys like you and I don't have to find out what works and what doesn't on our own.

The top 2 are Sears
1st one is made by Arkansas Traveler and the motor is a McCulloch. Noce little combo!!
The 2nd is a Sears Ted Williams Gamefisher. That one looks to be late 70's and could be the 12 or 14 foot model.
No idea on the bottom boat.
Good Luck!!

Top Sears is the Gem I'd say but not to detract from the other. They have their places. I'd personally like them for fishing from. Welcome aboard. Now the fun begins. I'd pick the top Sears to start since she looks very good. Have fun and we'd love to see lots of pics and help anyway we can.
