The sockets in both the bow and stern lights are pretty much gone. Which sockets can I use to replace them? Can you get them at an Autozone or O'Reilly's? The bulbs are missing, so that doesn't give me any ideas.

What size bulbs would you put in them?

Take the socket out (or take the whole light), go to NAPA and they should be able to help.

From the looks of that socket Mark posted the link for, it could take an 1156 bulb.

Most boats use the #1004 bulbs because they use two contacts in the base.. two wires... because you need a ground wire in a boat..

Do get brass ones. There are some out there that are stamped steel sockets that look good for a year or so and then rust badly. Cheap knockoff's might be what you'd get at the Autozone type stores. The same with trailer lights. I bought a set and paid almost $40 10 years ago because they were warranted forever. I second year they I started having problems with intermittent blinking. I checked the plugs and wiring thinking it was a bare wire or bad plug because it was not all the time. I finally tore the light apart and the sockets crumbled in my fingers. Yes I had the receipt but to no good. Nothing was done about them. I sent some nasty letters too. Those lights are in this pic. I've not had that Merc in about 10 years so it's been some time. The boat has been painted black and interior has been redone since this pic.

Brass socket, double leads, just not sure how you would mount it.
