TOPIC: '74 VIP I/O Bowrider

Friends,

i keep "stumbling over" more & more older (late '60s to mid '70s) I/O runabouts for CHEAP here in "greater" SATX & Austin. - some that are "junk", "good for parts" & some that are in really good shape, for from 150.oo to less than 1000.oo.
for example, i know of a restorable 21ft Glastron Sierra 212 (on a tandem trailer that is worth AT LEAST 1000.oo, used.) for 500.oo.

the latest of these is a 17ft VIP runabout (with a good-running Mercruiser 120) for 750.oo, on a "refurbished" trailer. - it's a "trihull" or "catherdral" hull.
(i'm told that VIP boats were built by VIVIAN INDUSTRIAL PLASTICS in a small town near Shreveport, LA but i know little else about this company.)

does anyone here know anything MORE about VIP boats?
(there is ZILCH in the library, at least that i can find.- furthermore, "VIP" is NOT listed as a LA builder in the FG "by state" list.)
