TOPIC: A Shameless Plug for -- KMART !

Dropped into my local K-Mart today.
Thought I'd peruse the marine aisle.
LO, look there, most things 60% off.
As fall, and dare I say it, "winter" rapidly approaching, knew I'd be needing a boat cover.
Picked up their better-end Gulfstream cover for around 50 bucks.
Also, didn't have 50 available on the spot,
but,
can you believe it?
Kmart is one of the few retailers with LAY-AWAY!
So for 15, a new cover, that I won't be needing for a few months anyway, is resting on a back shelf with my name on it.
They were also offering 1 & 2 year replacement plans on the cover.
Opted for the one year with the potential to upgrade to the two at a later date.
Should also mention, their lower end cover was on sale for about 25.

Hate to sound like a shameless Ad-man, but, (anybody been watcthing MAD MEN?)
might be worth your time to stop in at your local and pick up something needed at a reasonable price.

I am doing my entire boat so far through kmart and its layaway. I am a teacher (low pay) and this has helped me tremendously. Plus I can use the online layaway. Being in the desert, this is great for me.

Nows the time...KMart/ Wally...marking stuff down..

I was passing through Jamestown New York some years ago. We stopped at K-Mart and they had a special that Day. It was Lucille Balls Birthday and she grew up there. Get this 90% off all markdowns. I bought full sets of tools and stuff for pennies on the dollar. The car was full.

Not sure of the exact discount rate, but marine stuff was way over 50% off at the local K Mart, too.
Picked up a bilge pump that was tagged at $59 for $17 and change, and a new winche with strap for about the same. unfortuneatly, the sta-bil wasnt marked down. [thats what I went for, lol]

My local Kmart had absolutely no boating items in it now.
