Today I scored a 1958 Redfish Shark Capri. I just got off the phone with the current owner and will be picking it up either tomorrow or Saturday (hopefully). Its amazing how short a 5 hour drive is when it involves picking up a boat.
As soon as I get it home, I'll post some pics. I now have plenty to do over the winter with the Hydrodyne and the Redfish. I must give credit to my very understanding wife with my addiction to old fiberglass boats. Thanks again to everyone who's been helping out with assistance on the site, advice and information on my boats. |

I also have an understanding wife and that makes a ton of difference with the addiction.

Thanks for the photos Todd. I will email you some photos from the others I have located. Can you do me a favour and let me know what the serial number is on the inside (port side) of your metal transom plate. I am still trying to decifer the coding Redfish assigned. Nice fish by the way. You are right, lots of work ahead of you.

Mine is currently split in half with a new transom installed. Floor replacement in next. I have a period correct motor and steering wheel ready to be installed. I am on the five year reno plan...

Here is one we have done except interior,it doesn't show it but it has a green tinted windsheild, the tee nee is done,it is all gel coated,with a mark 55, Bill

There is only one way to describe your boat - FANTASTIC. The whole package is just amazing! Great job. Please share pics of your reno. I notice your vents in the front are sealed. Mine are open right now but I see that as a quick way to fill her with water. Any thoughts? |

I am thinking the vents were cut open after the fact. I am going to black out the vents rather than cut them out when I get to the deck restoration. It is curious that some I have come across have the vents cut out. Was this done by the manufacturer or the dealers (or owners after the fact)? Did you ever find a serial number? PM me your email and I will send you some photos. I have 11 Capris catalogued thus far. Andrew |
