TOPIC: How the heck to get paperwork in NJ??

Hi everyone. Apparently NJ issues titles for boats and their trailers. To get one they need a notarized bill of sale but proof that the prior owner actually owned it. I have the bill of sale but I think getting docs from the prior owner may be tough. Anyone come up with a creative solution for this problem?

S.J.: have this topic quite often.. Usually the fix would be to submit paperwork (Bill of Sale) etc from another person in a state where there is easy paperwork..


Example we dont even have yearly license plates on trailers here in Tennessee.. Heard some one close to North dakoka dont even have
registration on boats, just some kind small card .!!

Plan "B" is a state service down south , maybe Louisana , But heard it was $250 . Title re-issue.

Delaware just wants your $$$$$. If you have a bill of sale, Delaware will register it, then just do the switch to Jersey. You'll have to drive down on a week day so they can issue you Del state HIN.........

Thanks I looked into Wisconsin site from another thread but for boats 16 and over they want more then bill of sale. I'll try delaware! Would that work for the trailer too?.

In North Dakota we don't have trailer regestration. boats can be redgestared with a proir regestration or Bill of sale Or copy of a cancled check. secure.apps.state.nd.us/gnf/onlineservices/lic/public/online/main.htm You Can also print out a temp reg on line.
