How the heck does this come off? I have a steering wheel puller, but there is no place to mount it to. Any help would be appreciated.

I used a three jaw puller to get one off not long ago. Destroyed the wheel in the process, but it worked.

Are you trying to save this piece for reuse/restoration? I noticed it has a few large breaks in the outer hub so if you are not interested in saving this piece you could remove the outer plastic leaving just the inner metal hub that you may then be able to use a 3 jaw puller along with some heat and your favorite penetrating fluid elixir. If you are hoping to reuse stuff aluminum foil around the inner hub to insulate it from the heat. Apply several cycles of heat and dousing of your fav penetrating fluid. A 50/50 mix of ATF and acetone works well for me. Good luck.

If you can get at it from the back take off the unit mounting nuts/bolts, cables et al and pull it off the dash then you can gently hammer with a dead blow or wood malett. They corrode onto themselves really tight.

3 jaw puller did it for me, no heat, no penetrating oil, nuttin like that. Pullers are great tools, once she comes, all of a sudden things get easy...

Looks like a 3/4" taper shaft. Just tap on the shaft a few time will break her loose. Maybe spray some penetrating lube to help loosen it

PB Blaster is a good penetrating oil. Also, I like Kano's kroil. they may take a day or two to work, just keep saturating it as often as you can. :)
