Great looking boat. She's going to be beautiful when your done. I agree with Mark about best of both world's, of course I'm biased since my '60 Wagemaker Clipper is set up the same way, Glass hull and Mahogany top.

Kirb, Great looking boat so far! What species of wood is that on the deck? It looks like oak. Or is it teak?

I'm guessing teak. I don't think oak would hold up that good over the years. Looks great. Any hardware going on? It has that transition style that makes it look unique.

The wood on the boat is mahogany and white oak. The middle piece and the outside moldings are white, the deck is mahogany.

I stained it with pettit brown mahogany filler stain. I love that stain!!!

There still deck hardware to go on, but I will varnishing this weekend, so I left it off. I will try to get some pics with the deck hardware soon.

i picked up a 55' winner "super deluxe" 14'er plasticraft, and completely new to this whole restoration game, any suggestions, tips, thoughts, the hull is immaculate and the deck could use some work, however whenever i look around for colors of the original i can not find any, what appears to be a white hull and teal or turquoise deck over many years of fading, id like to sand it down and recoat but im not exactly 100% sure on the schemes, can anyone verify? thanks :cheer:

Hi Daviscjackson,
Don't know what condition your boat is in or what came with it, but
Check behind the dash, under seats, all crevasses...etc
Most times you will see the original colors, and since the sunlight cant get in those areas, the color will be vibrant and original.
Just a thought
