TOPIC: Kankakee boat races couple of glassics included

went to the boat races in Kankakee Il yesterday. I still have to download the pics. There where 2 hydrostreams racing in the v bottom class... the one in 2nd in the video (80 I think) ended up loosing it in the turn but came back to race later. Check out the black Hydro stomping the field in the epa class, all running stock epa approved motors and stomping the field with a 25-30yr old boat.










mini GT class... all home built powered by small motors


I didnt get any video of the crashes. The wind kicked up and blew over 1 boat, then on the second restart, a boat blew over and another slammed into it at full speed. The pilots were ok but at least 1 boat was a complete loss (took divers to get it off the bottom).

Thanks Jetboat . Cool videos . Makes me miss the 70s when they ran Hydros in my town 3 times a summer .I clicked on one of your videos and it took me to You Tube . After your video there was a Blow Over Vid at Kankakee . Silver Boat I think .

That was the first blow over... allot better angle on it than I had. Wonder if the big crash will find its way to Youtube.

Och .. That would be pretty scary .Looks like the guy got sideways and the other dude drove into him .Hope both drivers were alright .
