Is anybody remking replacement step pad inserts ?
I am looking for a set of ones for a 1960 glastron.
I would also like another set or 2 for the rail in the rear.

Post pictures if you can. I have no idea what they would look like.

I have been doing some research for step pads for myself as well. There is a variety of step pads on Ebay right now. Just enter "boat step pads" into the search box. Fisheries Supply (online) also offers a couple of good looking step pads. Again, enter "step pads" into the search box.
Good luck.

I was thinking the same thing. Mine came with wood when i got it so i built duplicates with mohogany but i think chrome and white wound be much better. What model boat is that? Glastron right?

Yes its a 60 Glastron StarFlit 16'.
The step pads inserts appear to some type of butyl, white soft rubber. Mine are completely rotted away !!
I will, have to take a few pics and post them late !!

There is a company that makes the white material as an extrusion. Might try Wefco.

Here's a shot of some of the material I got from Wefco. I had a big order with some window trim and Rub rail when I did my 17' Skagit and Pete told me there was a minimum order on the step material? You could call them and see if you can get some the next time they do an extrusion. I don't think they have it in inventory. It comes in strips and you cut to length . Wefco Rubber

Bought a nice set of NOS frames and pads at a show the other day. $20. They have black insterts that I am going to paint white. Should turn out pretty good.

I am planning on using an industrial urethane. I'll clean them up with some reducer, then adhesion promoter. It may not work well, but it is my best alternative until I can find some white rubber to replace it with. It will be much safer boarding for my passengers.

I got some of the sticky back stuff from Defender and made my own. One piece is the size of the frame and the other the size of the opening and put sticky to sticky. Not perfect but works OK. Here's a pic of them on my Tomahawk.

Here's what your pads used to look like
I heard someone in California was reproducing them, but never able to track them down. Love to have a few sets
Cheers
