I recently acquired a 59? Glass Craft One question (so far) - There were some numbers stamped on two of the three back seat support brackets - C58248. I'm wondering if these numbers mean anything (like year and production#) ?? Secondly, I'm looking for the two Name plates that go on the back fins. Help. The pics look like she was blue but after a little sanding she is 55 Ford yellow.

Welcome aboard!

Have you looked at the Glass Craft section in the Glassic Library here? There are brochures, etc... for Glass Craft.

The "C58248" probably is the company's serial number. Who knows what it means. Every boat firm had their own unique serial number system. Don not assume that the numbers "58" indicate the model year 1958. That is a possibility but not necessarily correct.

The firm had a very unique and bumpy history. I am working on research for an eventual article.

Good luck.

Andreas
