TOPIC: How Do I Brace the Motor for Trailering?

How Do I Brace the Motor for Trailering? 13 years 1 month ago #42527

I'll be putting about 400 miles on the boat trailer Labor Day weekend. I'm pulling a little 17 footer with a 100 horse outboard without power trim.

How do I brace the motor to take the stress off the transom? I know you use a motor brace, does it just sit against the end of the trailer with the motor weight holding it in place?

If you have transom eyes, I'd recommend using straps to secure it to the transom saver.
