Posted on our Switzercraft Yahoo group. When I saw the pix, I almost freaked out! My reply first there, his C/L ad next, and a link. Thats the boat as me a very young kid, said.."some day!" And that was 55 YEARS ago, and yes, I done that and better! Like us old Harley riders say.."never sell that old iron!" "Will it to the young in's!
Heres the skinny..read on. What I just sent him, and a link to the boat pix.
I remember as a kid, born in 1950, and my dad/mom, bro and sis, both older, well, Illinois our old stomping grounds. EVERY weekend we went to East shore of Crooked Lake, off 132 outside Lindenhurst. DAMN,! Across the lake, west shore, somewhere about later 50's, THAT SAME EXACT BOAT WAS ACROSS THAT LAKE! And damn, it TURNED ME ON! Remember that Merc sound so well! And that white swirl. I was between 7/12 years old. I have to almost bet thats the SAME BOAT. My GOD, thanks for the memories of that boat, even if not the same, I'd like to think so. Robby
"A one owner boat! It was my grandpa's boat...a 1957 Switzercraft 15' Combo.
Always stored under roof w/ cover and very well maintained. Hasn't seen water in
about 22 or so years. In great shape and all original! Everything is there!
The engine is a 1958 Mercury Mark 58A! A great engine with the classic / vintage
look. A hard to find and unique engine.
These boats are extremely hard to find...in fact, I think it's the only one
available online right now. Even harder to find are ones being one owner and
very well cared for throughout the years.
Recently...had this boat valued up to $2,500 with the range being $1,800 to
$2,500. As such, I'm offering it at a great price.
Really wanting someone to enjoy this boat and care for it as it will only
continue to sit idle with me for many years to come. Looking forward to hearing
from you. Please let me know your comments or questions. I have tons more
pictures...just ask and I'll email them your way.
