Built in Colville Washington in the mid 60's. This is the Husky model, very tough, super thick fiberglass. A thing of beauty.

Beautiful Wacanda, looks to be original too!? Is she yours Headly? If so, nice find!

We bought it from the neighbor who purchased it new. It had the big Evinrude on it but it conked and was replaced by the ever reliable Mercury 650.
I have seen another of the same model sitting in a fenced area up by the lake (Diamond Lake, 44 mi. north of Spokane, 7 mi. east of Idaho). It is beige with the typical glass windshield, but it has been sitting in the weather (snow, rain and brutal sun)for years. I have thought of picking it up, it has a tinted windshield.

I have garaged mine every year so it is well taken care of.

Nice looking boat, and a little bigger then the Wacanda Vandal I was looking at last week. The Vandal was as close to showroom perfect as I've seen for a boat that age (1965, I think). The only thing that wasn't original were the seats.

Here's a Wacanda that was at the La Conner Boat show last year that won "Best of Show, Fiberglass" It sports a restored Frankenmerc !!! Sweet little boats - great fins , you can see Melanie's "Oceans 2 " in the background of the second picture

I talked to the old boy that built them and he said in 58 he made and sold only 4 or 6 he couldn't remember, but the 58 was the only year with the hardtop and glass windshield and the name WACONDA and an anchor embossed and raised it the deck,Mine is the original color,,they are neat, they made alot of 59.s because he cheapened them up the 58 was 15-1600 then with the plastic windshield and hardtop option instead of standard, single instead of double splash rail,Thanks Bill

Gotta admit, the Waconda is one beautiful boat. Allways wanted one of them. Can never find one even in bad condition. These ones here are some of the best looking I have seen in along time. Keep up the good work on them, Skip.

sad to say, but i just hauled one of the ones in the top photo to the landfill. it'd sat outside for the better part of the last decade, and apparently none of the PO's knew that nose down was no good. i stepped in it to take a look around and dang near fell through the floor. it was ROUGH. i had not the time nor the space to repair it. no one was interested in it for free, either. i was actually real sad to see it go. there's just something about 'em... glad to see others appreciate them too!

just occured to me to mention that if anyone's working on one of these and is in need of parts, i managed to save most of the hardware off of the one i had. windshield included.

Mr. Riceman
I have a restored 1959 Wacanda Delta II. I would love to find a couple of Wacanda Logos for the fins although I dont think they were original on the boat. Any Luck??

mine didn't come with any logos and minimal trim pieces in general. the only spot on the boat that mentioned Wacanda at all came from the ID tag in the splashwell. sorry!

Exactly - Mine only had a black bakelite ID tag with Wacanda, Colville, Wa
#5259 mounted on the dash.

it would seem my "it's already out to the landfill" comment was a tad optimistic. i intended to head out to dump it just right after i check this one thing on the internet, so i posted as though it was gone (perhaps to encourage myself to make the trip, i am not sure)... anyway, that turned into a disaster and i spent half the afternoon looking at boat stuff. so now the boat still sits next to the house. i know this, because my wife tells me. every day =)

perhaps next weekend it will go to the landfill (that's kinda like a mother's day present, right?). that is, unless the internet still has boat stuff on it.

mine looked like it had emblems on the fins but they were missing by the time i got it. i walked by it today, so i looked. 4 holes in the upper portion of the fin, near the rear where you'd expect the emblem to be. but, alas, they are non-existent on mine.

on second thought, perhaps that's not much of a disaster at all!
