This boat is located about 2 hours away from me in Virginia. It's been some time ago and I didn't have much time to spend there(was with a friend picking up some car parts) so I snapped these pics in a hurry. Can't remember many details about the boat but I know it can be bought at a very reasonable price. I'm looking for another project and might go back to check this one out if it's still there and worth my time and effort. It's wedged behind about 10 old non-running cars that would have to be moved before it could come out of there. Any ideas about the maker or the desirability?

Maybe a Challenger or Contender by Glastron/Carlson? We've got a couple folks pretty sharp on those hanging around here, one of them will check in soon and advise. Could be a great find! ;)

..FIN.: Here is a prior thread two weeks ago on these Art CARLSON
hydros.. www.fiberglassics.com/glassic-forums/2-main-forum/38409-carlson-hydro-16-ft--300-a-trl-.html#38474
. Some members here have them. I am sure it would be a future investment... GOOD to hear from you again.. Lot of history in
those models... Also there is a VIntage Race Assn.

Thanks guys, and hey Split! It's been a while. It's getting late in the season and as usual, the Fin Bug is after me again. Time to start draggin' them out of the weeds again. ;)

Lots of history laying around these parts...

..FIN.: I think you can leave the red one (Catalina G-3), no engine laying right there covering the weeds. Many of them surface
& very little interest , as heavy weight. !

. However send me a pvt e-mail on the Brown Cabin Glasspar ,with the bow rail. ,, N.C. SunLiner Open, Glasspar could be interesting.
Photo is backwards with the reg #.

Yeah I think the G3 has found it's final resting place, it's super rough. Check out this old Fleetform I picked up out of a barn lot for 40 bucks, I just had to get it out of there - they were using it as a watering trough for the goats!

The Sunliner was a boat on eBay I went to look at in Statesville - was rough and cheap but too much for me to handle. I'm sure it's already gone by now. Not sure why the pic is inverted.

The brown and white Glasspar is something I've been trying to buy for the last year or so. It's neat that it has all of it's original bronze hardware. I'd love to have it as a project.

You're right about the others like the Thunderbird, neat but would just be sitting around taking up space. Shell Lake Rocket is cool tho but is 400 bucks and I really don't need it.

That 1st boat at the top of the thread is a Carlson. Lots of fun on flat water (or just a slight ripple) with a big old in-line 6, or whatever ya got. Watch those wake waves though...

Does the Shell Lake Rocket have any of the cleats near the stern in decent condition.
