Some are flexible base, some have a hard plastic ring to secure the boot. They're also available thru Jamestown Dist., iBoat.com, Wholesale Marine, etc..

The better quality ones (like the one Brian got for you from JD) come with the ring, the cheaper ones (like I bought without knowing about this) don't!  |

The boot and ring part #s do not come up in NAPA's computer system, which makes it very hard for them to order. I used to work for NAPA, and asked the manager where I used to work today about it. Generally, he knows of what he speaks!

F - they are cable boots. I bought a bunch of them for you and me from Jamestown Distributor. They are like $5 each. B

Inflation has taken it's toll, the rings are $2.48 each, the boots are now $8.56 each. Still a good deal, IMHO. I'm just throwing that info out there for anybody who wants it, not trying to influence where you buy your stuff. (Jamestown is a sponsor/advertiser here, so I try to do business with those who support this great site.) Definitely spring the extra change for the rings, much sturdier with them holding the boots down.
