TOPIC: Glasspar G-3 video

I posted this video under the G-3 Owners Association section, but I figured if I posted it here as well more people could get to see what a G-3 looks like in action!

Very good Ben, BUT I didn't see the "Savage II" in the footage from the Rally!!!! Lots of The Ole Nut, and a Johnson Stinger that did not want to run!!

Hey Ben! Glad to see you got that old Merc 1000 running! What was the problem? I know last year you and Tim were at about wit's end with that baby. Obviously something clicked eh?

I can only get my old Power Cat up to 46 or 47, so ya got me beat. Are you up at Lake George for the summer now, or just weekends? Maybe I'd haul the Power Cat up and run around with ya some weekend.

Whate Hp are these G3 rated for? ,...looked like fun....

They were originally rated for 60 hp. Many of us run more than that though. Popular engines for these G3's are merc 650s, 700s, 800s, and 1000s. On the OMC side, 75hp stingers are very favorable. Of course there are some out there with even larger engines. At the international rally a few years ago there were even merc 1500s out there. There are a lot of different opinions on this subject. But regardless of the motor, they're still tons of fun!!

Turned out to be a set of fried points! I also ended up changing the rectifier and starter motor last summer, runs flawlessly now!! I'm up here on Lake George until August 21st. There's a surprise coming up here in about a week, it would be fun if we could get together and have a little meet up here, "The Lake George Classic Boat Chapter"

Hey Ben! Glad to hear ya got it figured out. Gee, fried points huh? Speaking of rectifiers, I took mine out and put an early voltage regulator in, works better.

Too bad. We're tied up next couple of weekends, camping next weekend at Gilbert Lake State Park, then off to western NY with the Power Cat for a 4 day weekend the 19th-22nd. Guess I'm gonna miss ya. Darn!
