TOPIC: Is my boat a trailer or is my trailer a boat?

Some time ago, I was looking for a boat trailer. Dang Craigslist. So I had to get this "boat trailer" . Its a 1970? IMP. It un bolts from trailer and the two hulls are hinged and bolt together. I never have used in water but is great for camping. Dave the Wave [file/]

Whats the trailer do swing out into a boat ?? And thats one of those Boat Cars isnt it ?? Cant remember the name of them . Welcome to the site by the way .

Ive actually seen 1 of those trailers before... back when I was a kid a distant relative got one at an auction. No clue what happened to it.

The Amphicar in picture is a mild custom,just for me. It did a nice job of pulling trailer. Depending on Wife and weather I hope to drive the combo to the Beloit show this August 20th.
Kind of funny I rushed so much that I had to use plenty of filler, so in a way it almost is a Fiberglassic!!
Looking forward to meeting Fla. group since that is where we are headed.

OK, this is getting weird! Your car is a boat, you boat is a camper, and for some reason, this all makes sense to me!
My Dad had a Amphicar, and was that ever a gas to "launch", until he caught me heading to the water a little too fast, but that little puppy never missed a beat!..(don't forget the door locks!)Is that another Amphicar in the background?

Wow suddenly I am getting inspired to turn my trailer into a boat, been thinking giant RV for years but boat would really be cool. I figure the end where the dining room is with the bay window would be the cockpit. (I have to admit my dining room is my woodshop). Might save myself some work by finding an old barge that will fit a 14'x70' hehe.

14? years ago at Lake Geneva there was a display of finned boats. Iam guessing it was KevFin. Usual story of kids and .....Then 10 years ago I started going to Mt Dora boat show in March. Great great boats. Tampa Tommy has some way way cool boats. Than recently my neighbor wanted help with selling their Buehler Colorado. Which in turn got me to join this group.
Thats where I saw Becca advertising their show. Which in turn got me looking for a finned headlight boat.
Which led to Car Aqua.
But since we are in process of down sizing, I had to pass on purchase.
My Florida boat is a near mint condition 1974 Glastron tiny open bow.
To keep the confusion with my vehicles my motorcycle thinks it is a jet. #110 Pulse. a Jim Bede design.
Goal now is after my shop is set up in Florida is to find something with fins. Dave

Welcome aboard Dave, glad to know ya. Looks like you kinda have an eye for the unique stuff, very cool.

I was looking at rusty trailer and thought that's too ugly. Luckily I injured myself and had more spare time than usual.
So sand blasted, black epoxied than got a handful of large metal flake (son makes fun of it and calls it kindergarten glitter).
Quickly blew on a couple coats of thick clear. May not last but looks good today.
