TOPIC: 1957 Crosby

1957 Crosby 13 years 2 months ago #39632

I am researching a 1957 Crosby. The owner says it has a "wood grain like" fiberglass deck. It is my understanding Crosby boats had mahogany decks in '57 and went to fiberglass in '58. Can anyone help with this?

..P.: WELCOME... I tend to agree with you 57 still had actual wood
on the bow... If all models were wood.? I dont know that tonight.
Here is a pic of my 58 Crosby , 16ft Sequin.. Hard to see the pattern detail , But it has the recess caulk lines about 2 inches apart, and all fiberglass.

Let us know how you make out & try & post a few pictures.

A 57 would be a true wood deck. 58 and later are glass decks. The glass decks had grooves molded in and depending whether you had a standard or custom deluxe the grooves provided offsets to the decks color.
