TOPIC: Where to find 3M 5200 Marine Caulk at chain stores

Ok, just curious. I know I can buy 3M 5200 marine caulk online at the boat building places, BUT I USED to be able to buy it a local chain stores. Stopped in at LOWES and Home Depot here in harrisburg, and no-one is carrying it! Lowes just reorganized their stores in this area, and reduced the inventory they carry. THANKS! haha.

So anyone have a national chain they can find it at? If not I guess its an order to Jamestown Dist. Just seems that some home-improvement store should carry more than DAP!

ha, just called some local marine stores... they carry it. Now just to price compare.. it used to be relatively cheap at Lowes.. ha

I am sure that you can get it at a West Marine/Boat US for about double the price at Home Depot. They still have it at mine btw I just picked some up the other day.

My question...not to steal the thread, but has anyone ever used it in an aluminum application?

NAPA carries 3M products, including 4200 and 5200 in 3 oz & 6 oz squeeze tubes, as well as larger caulk gun tubes in white and black.

Tim, all the Home Depots, Lowes, in our area have reduced their inventory of items carried. Sales people have told me it is due to the economy.

I have two of each (home depot, lowes) in my area, home depot hasn't carried it in a while... Lowes just reorganized their stores in the last two weeks in this area and are no longer selling some items, 3m caulking (except for fire caulking) is one of those things.

Check lowes.com OR homedepot.com

Tall Texan is right.. you can only get the little 3 oz. tube at home depot.
