I've been debating exactly what to do with the dash on my Glasspar-

Originally, there was just some thin vinyl, almost like contact paper, stuck to the wood dash panel, and the instruments and switches were installed over it. Of course, it was in bad shape. I've seen some CItations, including the parts boat that I bought, that have had a kind of vacuum formed plastic dash, But most of them are in pretty bad shape, too. I've got one, from that parts boat, but it's cracked. They look a little cheap, too.

So, I had explored a few options- Different vinyls, plastics, etc. But, What I really wanted was a textured aluminum sheet of some kind. After a bit of looking, I finally came up with this-

I thought it would look nice, so I ordered some. Of course, it wasn't here in time for the show this weekend, but I got it today, and got it cut to size-

It polishes up NICE, too- Almost like chrome. It is EXACTLY the look that I wanted. I might add another trim piece to the bottom of the panel, I'm not sure yet...

That makes a world of difference. Nice and smooth looking and dresses the dash up nicely.

Looks good. I have a place book marked that sells similar item that I'm going to use on my Invader.

I got it from Online metals-http://www.onlinemetals.com/ , I bought a pretty big sheet (24" x 24"), since the shipping was a killer... Might have some extra if anyone needs some!

I was thinking about using their vinyl, but what I really wanted was aluminum. I figured it would last longer... And, I can really give it a good polish, too!
